I am the author of seven historical fiction novels set in ancient Rome and featuring the all-female priesthood of the Vestal Virgins. My novels chronicle the Vestal Order's long history from its quasi-legendary beginnings in the 8th century BCE to its all-too-real end in the early 5th century CE. My books have been translated into multiple languages.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in English and Classics, and a Juris Doctor. I also have a strong commitment to creating vivid storyscapes, and I have participated in research excursions in (and under) various historical sites. I always do my best to inform my writing with this invaluable perspective.
